Websites for Salons, Restaurants & Retail Shops on Michigan's Main Streets

Your booking app and your register already work. Your search presence and your reputation are what we build.

A storefront is found through the map pack, Instagram and the reviews. Booking lives in Vagaro or Booksy and orders in Toast or Square, and that is fine. We build the layer the platform does not: ranking for "near me" at 6 p.m., the photos and hours the newcomer checks, and reviews on a profile you own.

Built for your counter

A chair, a table and a rack sell differently. The search is different too.

01

Retail shops

The newcomer searches "<product> near me"; the regular searches your name for hours. Category pages and consistent hours win both. Adams Imprints runs its storefront and catalog on a site we built.

  • Category pages for what you stock, so item-first searches find you
  • Hours, parking and the front door photo, identical everywhere
  • Reserve-and-collect when it fits the product
  • A review request after the sale
›How they search

Item-first ("<product> near me") and name-second ("<shop> hours"). The pack decides the item search; category pages with product names in the headings decide the organic result. Half of holiday shoppers plan to buy online and pick up in store, so the reserve page earns its place.

02

Salons & barbershops

Booking lives in Vagaro, Booksy, GlossGenius or Clean Cutz, the barbershop platform we built. The site wins the search before the booking: "balayage lake orion", the stylist's name, the reviews.

  • A page per service family with photos of your own work
  • Stylist and barber pages; clients search the person as often as the shop
  • One "Book now" button into your existing platform
  • A review request after the appointment
›How they search

Service-plus-town ("mens haircut lake orion") and person ("<stylist name>"). The pack decides most of them, driven by category (Barber shop, Hair salon), hours, reviews and photos; service pages win specialty terms like "balayage". Booking stays on the platform.

03

Restaurants & food

Ordering runs through Toast or Square, and the delivery apps rank for your name. The site exists so "<restaurant> menu" lands on you, not on a third party charging 30%.

  • The menu as text on the page, not a PDF
  • A direct order or reservation button that bypasses the marketplace fee
  • Hours and specials pushed to the Business Profile on time
  • Photos of the actual dishes and room, refreshed each season
›How they search

Brand ("<name> menu", "<name> hours") and category-plus-place ("pizza near me"). The pack decides nearly all of them: category, "open now" hours, photos, review recency. Delivery apps rank for your name; the text menu and direct order button take that search back.

04

Boutiques

The search is "boutique near me" and "<brand> dealer"; the discovery is Instagram; the regular wants this week's arrivals. Boutique Chic in Lake Orion runs on a site we built for exactly that.

  • A new-arrivals page updated weekly
  • Brand pages for the lines you carry, which shoppers search by name
  • A small online shop or reserve-and-collect for the out-of-towner
  • Event pages for trunk shows, published early
›How they search

"Boutique near me" (the pack: category, photos, reviews) and brand searches ("<brand> michigan", won by a brand page). Instagram drives discovery, not search; the site and profile are where the follower checks hours and the newcomer finds you.

Search strategy

How storefronts win search on Main Street

A storefront's search is decided in the map pack, and the pack is decided by things most shops never touch after claiming the profile: category, hours, this season's photos, last month's reviews. The platforms do not help here and the delivery apps compete for your name.

  1. 01

The category and the hours are the ranking

For "salon near me" or "pizza near me", the primary category and whether you are open at that moment are two of the top five factors. Set the most specific category and keep holiday hours current.

In Whitespark’s 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors survey of 47 experts, the primary Business Profile category is the top local pack factor, proximity is second, being open at the time of search is fifth, and reviews with text rank ninth. (Whitespark, Local Search Ranking Factors 2026)

  2. 02

Menu, services and stock as text on the page

A PDF menu, an image of the price list or a "see our Instagram" link cannot rank for "brunch lake orion". Text with the dish, service or brand names in the headings is what the organic result reads.

  3. 03

Take your name back from the apps

Delivery apps, booking marketplaces and Yelp rank for "<your shop>" and charge you for a customer who was already yours. A complete profile, a text menu on your domain and a direct button give the branded search a better result.

76% of people who search for something nearby on their phone visit a business within 24 hours, and 28% of those searches end in a purchase. (Think with Google, via HubSpot)

  4. 04

    Recent reviews, answered every time

Consumers want reviews from the last three months, not a star count from 2019, and expect the owner to respond. Ask after the visit with a direct link; reply to every one.

74% of consumers look for reviews written in the last three months. (BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey 2026)

  5. 05

    Plan for the pickup search

Half of shoppers plan to buy online and pick up in store at the holidays. A reserve-for-pickup page, mentioned on the profile, captures the 9 p.m. search and brings the customer in the next morning.

52% of consumers planned to use buy-online, pick-up-in-store for the 2025 holiday season. (ICSC, 2025 Holiday Shopping Intentions Survey)

This is the playbook our local SEO program runs month to month.

The winning setup

What a storefront website needs to win the walk-in.

  • A Business Profile with the right category, current hours and this season's photos
  • A page per service, category or brand, with your own photos
  • Menu, services or stock as text on the page, never a PDF or image
  • One button into the booking or ordering platform you already run
  • A review request after every visit, and a reply to every review
  • Hours and address identical on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the site

$100–$300 / month. Everything managed. No upfront build fee.

Priced for a Main Street shop, month to month, and never a second booking or POS system to pay for.

Storefront website questions, answered.

We already have Vagaro (or Toast, or Square). Why add a site?

The platform handles the transaction, not the search. It does not rank you for "hair salon near me" at 6 p.m., show the newcomer your photos and hours in the map, or hold your reviews somewhere you own. We leave booking where it is and build the search and reputation layer around it.

Most of our customers find us on Instagram. Does search matter?

Instagram is discovery; search is the check that follows. The follower who wants your hours, the newcomer typing "boutique near me" and the person Googling your name after a friend's story all land in the map pack. Three in four consumers check a business online before visiting.

Can you do anything about delivery apps taking a cut?

Partly. We cannot stop them ranking for your name, but your own page can rank above them for "<restaurant> menu" with a text menu and a direct order button, and your profile carries the direct link. Regulars who learn to order direct stay direct.

What does it cost?

Plans run $100 to $300 per month with design, hosting, local SEO, Google profile work and review management included. No upfront build fee and no long-term contract.
